About

The Museum of Medicine and Health contains one of the most extensive collections of medical instruments and equipment in England.

‌Spanning more than 300 years, the collection represents a significant educational and cultural asset for The University of Manchester.

As part of the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health the museum actively supports social responsibility priorities by placing science in a social and historical context.

People

The museum is under the stewardship of the Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine, with Dr Harriet Palfreyman as Academic Lead.

A part-time Heritage Officer, Stephanie Seville, helps make the collection accessible to students, staff and researchers at the University, as well as local schools and at public exhibitions and engagement events.
